Who Is Lianne Torres?

Lianne Torres is a Podcast Host, Speaker and Domestic Violence Advocate. She’s the proud creator of the Watch Us Thrive podcast.

Watch Us Thrive is more than just a podcast; it’s a resource that many come to for their own personal development journeys. With more than 13k+ downloads and counting since the show launched in 2022, our listeners feel seen, heard and understood with the powerful testimonies shared weekly from a wide variety of guests.

We focus on having discussions about healing from trauma, how to bounce back from the clutches of toxic and abusive relationships, turning your pain into power and most importantly, rediscovering your inner magic and THRIVING in the process.

This podcast is as raw and real as it gets. We don’t shy away from stigmatized & taboo topics; the ones society likes to bury deep down. Here at Watch Us Thrive, we thrive on highlighting those uncomfortable conversations.

As the show slogan goes: “We talk about the sh*t you don’t want to talk about, but needs to be talked about!”

Where it all began...

At the height of the dreaded COVID-19 pandemic, I found myself in an emotionally, verbally & physically abusive relationship. I was a victim of domestic violence, without realizing it. With a long list of failed relationships under my belt, I’d become an expert at settling for less & allowing my romantic partners treat me like garbage.

My self-worth? Nonexistent. Self-love? No clue what that was. My romantic relationships were a toxic cocktail that I kept self-medicating on.

The wake-up call came on the night of March 12, 2021 when my life almost ended after experiencing the most horrific night of abuse by the hands of my ex-boyfriend. I didn’t know at the time, but going through that was the start of my self-discovery journey.

I came to realize something after escaping from that relationship: the common denominator in all of the sh*tty relationships I ended up in… was me. Ouch… that one stung a bit.

After going through what I like to call my come-to-Jesus moment, it was time for a hard reset in order to begin healing my deep-rooted wounds that had been left bleeding, unhealed, and infected for so many years.

I was sick and tired of feeling sick and tired. It was time to start focusing on the one relationship I had neglected my entire life… the one I had with myself.

I know I survived that night for a reason. Death was knocking at my door, but God knew it wasn’t my time to go. I don’t take for granted that I was able to come out alive from such a traumatizing experience. Going through that truly changed me as a person: mind, body, soul & spirit.

After secluding myself into a cocoon, taking time to do some much-needed soul-searching and healing, I slowly emerged into the world as a beautiful butterfly, with scars and all that I proudly wear today. I started using my voice to take my power back and my pain and trauma became the catalyst for discovering my purpose.

I started sharing my story of healing after leaving my abusive ex-boyfriend, which is how my podcast came to be. My platform has become a beautiful and safe space where I share testimonies of others who have also turned their pain into power, trauma into triumph and struggles into success.

This healing journey has been a rollercoaster ride of emotions. Trust me, it hasn’t been rainbows and butterflies.

As cliché as the saying goes, healing isn’t linear. Some days are bad b*tch days…other days are sad girl days… but every single day, I see myself evolving into a better version of myself—the woman I’m proud AF to be!

turning your pain into power!

The Watch Us Thrive podcast is a safe space for your own healing journey.

If there’s one thing I learned from what I went through, it’s this: YOUR PAST TRAUMA DOES NOT DEFINE YOU! It’s just a small chapter of your story, not the entire book.

We have skeletons in our closet.

We’ve experienced trauma and pain.

Our past wounds need some healing & TLC.

Your story is worth sharing, and the Watch Us Thrive podcast is here to normalize talking about those uncomfortable conversations that we’re dealing with as a collective. Each week, tune in to a variety of guests who share their stories of turning their pain into power, along with solo episodes from your host sprinkled in between.

New episodes of the show premiere every Tuesday on your favorite podcast streaming platforms, like Apple Podcasts & Spotify. Subscribe to my YouTube channel to watch full video episodes of the show! You can also follow my digital footprint on Instagram, Threads, TwitterTikTok, Facebook LinkedIn.
